Family Compact

A Family-School Compact for Achievement is an agreement that families, students and teachers develop together.  It explains how families and teachers will work together to make sure that all students get the individual support they need to reach and exceed grade level standards.

SPPS Goals

  • Decrease disparities in achievement based on race, ethnicity, culture and identity
  • Increase achievement of English Learners
  • Increase achievement of students receiving special education services.
  • Improve kindergarten readiness
  • Increase academic growth in reading and math for all students
  • Prepare all graduates for the workplace.

How We Support Your Student at School

Grade-level teams will work with students and their families to support students' success in all academic areas. As teachers, we will support our students by:

  • Sending communication through Seesaw and Schoology about upcoming activities and happenings in the classroom
  • Creating a safe and supportive environment
  • Maintaining high standards of learning for all children • Helping children resolve conflict in positive, nonviolent ways using Restorative Practices, PBIS, and Responsive Classroom
  • Providing meaningful and relevant learning tasks that are Culturally Responsive
  • Additional student support is provided by teachers and support staff
  • Provide additional resources to support student needs • Develop independent learners and self-advocacy

Communicating about Learning  

Global Arts Plus is committed to communicating regularly with families about children’s learning. Some of the ways you can expect us to communicate are:

Do you have questions about your child’s progress? Parents can contact their child’s teacher. 

How to Support Your Student at Home

Global Arts Plus families can help children succeed when families and teachers work together. Families can help our children succeed by:  

  • Attending family involvement events, or getting information from the PTA, or from my child's teacher if we cannot attend conferences
  • Encourage reading at home daily with your child in English or Home Language
  • Engaging in Math at the grocery store, in the car, and while walking.
  • Supporting students with Financial Literacy, Personal Learning Plans (PLPs), and career exploration (ie Xello) at the 5-8 Campus
  • Maintaining high expectations and goals for your child
  • Look for weekly communication and updates through Seesaw and Schoology
