Global Arts Plus Lower Campus Music Teacher Visits South Africa as a Fund for Teachers Fellow

Global Arts Plus Lower Campus music specialist Kim Kroetsch was selected as a 2026 Fund for Teachers Fellow, made possible through the generous support of the Saint Paul and Minnesota Foundation.

Ms Kroetsch submitted a proposal that stood out in an exceptionally competitive pool for its thoughtfulness, creativity and strong connection to her students and school community.

The award partially funded Ms Kroetsch to experience South African youth music traditions, community-centered music education, and place-based history to inform arts-integrated, culturally responsive instruction that deepens students' global understanding, affirms identity, and increases engagement through meaningful music-making.

As a Fund for Teachers Fellow, Ms. Kroetsch is part of a growing community of educators who are reimagining what's possible in classrooms and beyond.
