I’m Ellen Colby, the sixth grade math teacher at Global Arts Plus. I love helping students make sense of math and not simply memorize tricks and formulas. We spend a lot of time on 'why' math works and drawing pictures to illustrate our understanding.

The 2024-25 school year will be my 14th year teaching for Saint Paul Public Schools. I gained my middle school math endorsement from St. Mary’s University, and I earned my education master’s degree from Concordia University.

When I'm not teaching, I love spending time with my daughter. You can also often catch me working for the Minnesota Lynx or attending Vikings games with my mom!
